The cost of war..
is staggering.
MSNBC has filed a report on the matter. It's sobering.
Not very long ago, Congressman Boozman and I had a spirited discussion over Amtrak, a federal program that ought to be an integral part of the national transportation system. EIGHT DAYS of the Iraq war equals one year of Amtrak funding.
But that is really nothing. I only mention that to highlight the enormous injustice of a war which has enriched a few of Dick Cheney's closest friends while elderly Americnas are forced to chose between groceries and prescription drugs. Cheney and Bush have their good life, and that's all that matters, isn't it?
