Benny Goodman Lives!
The final credits on tonight's Sopranos on HBO featured a Benny Goodman classic from the Big Band era. "Sing! Sing! Sing!" features the incredible Gene Krupa drum solo. Back when I was a know-nothing teenager working my first radio job backin Clinton, Oklahoma, our hard-drinking morning man, Mike fagan, used to worship Krupa and Buddy Rich. We spent many strange evenings drinking way too much. Mike once got so lit, he begged me to drive him someplace. Now, THAT is LOADED!
