Lynch at Large

I think a huge part of the problem for democrats is we are left without candidates who are like real people. Most equate being a democrat with being a liberal and most, in Arkansas, even though being a life-long democrat, can't abide by what appears to be democrat ideas. Recently I was chatting with a lady who told me she had been a democrat all her life until she began to see a "sea change in society". She cited as her example, of all things, dirty dancing type cheerleading and dancing. Her daughter it seems was one of these cheerleaders who wiggled her hips in school sanctioned cheers that were one step away from the same wiggle dance they do in strip clubs. The mother equates the loose nature of our society with the democrats! Now is that really the case? Probably not, but it made me realize that could very well be why so many former dems hold their noses and vote for those pols who appear to stand for "family values" which is code for "right wing" but what is th option for folks like this? Any thoughts Lynch? Brummett? Brantley?

I couldn’t agree more. The democrats need to take their party back. I am a conservative American. I do not vote down party line nor am I a Bush groupie. I believe that we need to remove the extremes (left and right) from both parties. I am 100% against gay marriage and I will vote for any candidate that will protect the traditional values of our nations. That doesn't make me homophobe either. I believe we need to defend our nation from the new enemy, which is extreme Islamic fascism. But that doesn't mean I don't question why we are in Iraq. I believe we should be allowed to pray in school and public government places but we don't need to set up Church of America. That doesn't make me want to force my religion on you. Yes, I agree with the post above that here lately, we want to equate the moral decay of our nation with Democrats. That is only because the moral decay is coming from the Hollywood left. There are good, value focused Democrats out there. They need to take their party back. But if you want to fight the moral decay of our children, it starts at home.
