Air Supply

Congress is getting ready to consider a really terrible bill dealing with victims of asbestos. A couple of people whose family members have been touched visited and told their story today. Sharon Jackson’s daughter died of mesothelioma at age 5 after breathing asbestos fibers off of her father's work clothes. Jane Gray Todd’s cousin died of meso. He was exposed during military service. She will be going to DC to tell her story to work against the bill. Ed Moody, an attorney who works with asbestos victims also came by. He is very up to date on the bill You can hear the interviews in the WAI archive linked on your left.

Congress is considering legislation to take away victim’s rights to sue the manufacturers. That denies a fundamental American right to have your day in court. It sets up a trust fund which will be quickly deleted by the millions of continuing claims from those whose lives have been diminished by a dangerous fiber that has been deliberately used in construction for decades despite the known risks.

Senator Lincoln needs to know that this is a bad law and hurts people who are in real need.
